Diary of a cinephile cyclist—shot on 16mm film, a quartet of rides (Berlin, Tyrol, two in Vienna) are musingly narrated by an unseen protagonist. Audaciously combining the personal and the philosophical, Dallaserra explores profound matters with a beguilingly light touch. A poetic and idiosyncratic kind of road movie, it deftly stimulates the mind as well as the senses, delivering several surprises as it rolls along toward a nicely elegant finale.
