In a machine-dominated claustrophobic world, the population is trapped in a vicious circle of work-obedience-reproduction-consumption. The most bereaved of them all manages to escape to a utopian world. Still, it is ultimately revealed that the very notion of escaping and being a fugitive (Fuga) is part of the imprisonment.
