Léna can no longer support life with Michel, her husband, and is in love with a young artist, Jean-Claude. He comes to join Léna as soon as she arrives and finds her every evening on the beach, in her tent. The smoldering crisis does not prevent children from doing stupid things (setting fire to the Mickey Club, poisoning goldfish with suppositories), nor from experiencing their first emotional emotions. This Is Life is a drama film set in the French seaside resort of La Boule in the early 1960s. Sisters Frédéric and Sophie, accompanied by their governess Odette, spend the holiday with their aunt Bella, uncle Léo Mondet, and cousins Danielle, Susan, René and Didi. Their father Michel stayed in Lyon to take care of the business, while their mother Lena mysteriously went to Paris. Frederic confided her inner secret in her diary: she was fascinated by her eldest cousin Daniel. A few years ago he was a child, but now he is a manly man. Later, Sophie said that Lena and Michelle were breaking up. Frederick wrote about the incident in his diary and was overwhelmed by it. The two girls complained to their mother, Lena, over the phone about the way Odette looked after them and cried about how much they missed their mother.
