剧情梗概：
青岛某海军军区，海军炮校肖校长和妻子扬涛为军官举办婚介舞会，两人一心想为大龄军官们解决个人婚配问题。海军军官江德福深受肖校长器重，在肖校长夫妇的引荐下，江德福在舞会上认识了年轻漂亮的安杰，并对她心生爱慕。而面对大老粗似的江德福，安杰却一点感觉都没有。由于安杰家庭成分不好，全家人屡次受到江德福的帮助，安杰渐渐发现了貌似粗犷的江德福其实是个机智、可爱的男人，她逐渐接受了江德福的情感，两人结为夫妻。江德福和安杰夫妻共同克服了出身的差异、文化程度的悬殊、生活环境的恶劣以及特殊时期的生存困境，抚养着五个孩子，共同走过了风风雨雨的几十年。孩子们长大成人，步入老年的江德福和安杰回首往事，觉得能携手度此一生是无比幸福的事情。资本家小姐出身的安杰与农村出身的江德福在一起生活，必然会因为思想观念和生活习惯的不同产生重重矛盾。安杰在婚前就顾虑重重：“你没求过婚吗？得跪下来求。”但是挡不住江团长的可爱表白：“男儿膝下有黄金，知不知道？你这个思想真该好好改造一下。安杰同志，我求求你了，你嫁给我吧，让我好好改造改造你。”结果，婚后的情况完全反了过来，江德福的一切不良生活习惯都被“资本家小姐”安杰进行系统化了纠正和改造，努力改善卫生的江团长被战友们揶揄地称为“三洗（洗脸、洗脚、洗屁股）丈夫”，在剧集快结束时，我们看到安杰变成了她自己以前无法想像的朴素老太太，而江德福却爱上了穿真丝睡衣吃西餐牛排——几十年的彼此影响、相互浸染尽在这个场景之中，令人不胜唏嘘。
