《天才医院PureGenius》由JasonKatims编剧及当执行制片，这试映集原本是上季曾经有试映集播放协议的，但最终连试映集阶段都没成功，这季再次卷土重来。这试映集背景为一个年轻的硅谷科技巨头，拉上一个有争议过去的资深外科医生，设立一间以尖端﹑新方式提供药物的BunkerHill医院。AugustusPrew饰演一名年轻的硅谷科技巨头JamesBell，像有无穷能量的他，外表无情﹑反传统，像是天才但又像个疯子似的；但他对医疗的决心，以及对别人的吸引力可是无容置疑。在预告可见他患上了种未有治疗方法的遗传病，正在致力找出解决办法。他为医院拉来了一位资深外科医生WalterWallace（DermotMulroney饰），他有着争议的过去，虽然他在救人上是个天才，但他对病患却有种冷漠的感觉。OdetteAnnable饰演直率的，理想主义的内科医师Zoe，对生活充满乐观的正能量。BrendaSong饰演Angie，BunkerHill医院的程序员。ReshmaShetty饰演TalaikhaChannarayapatra医师，十分敬业﹑无畏无惧，但也会令人抓狂。WardHorton饰演ScottStrauss神经科专门医师，性格热情的他有着常青藤学历，而且是一位闻名世界的内科医师的儿子。AaronJennings饰演MalikVerlaine医师，他不同于传统的形象。出生贫苦的他，眼看普朋友及家人只能接受次级的医疗，因此决定带头，提供给全社区的全天候医疗服务。在预中可见，他们能监控不同人的身体状况，并达致最快的速度给予适当治疗。
