剧情梗概：
大汉王朝建立以来，源自春秋战国乃至楚汉争霸以来的数百年的战争落下帷幕。黄河龙门一地，司马迁（仇永力饰）自幼随父亲司马谈读书认字，广学博闻。司马谈任太史令一职，指示儿子遍游山川大河，名胜古迹，寻访古人遗踪轶事。多年的历练让他对史学有了更深的了解和学识的积淀。在此之后，司马迁入京担任郎中职务，与董仲舒、公孙弘、司马相如等名臣共事汉武帝（许还山饰）。父亲弥留之际，将祖辈传承的治史使命传给了儿子。谁知命运多舛，飞将军李广的孙子李陵（王全有饰）带五千精兵远征匈奴，与匈奴数万大军缠斗，终因弹尽粮绝投降。司马迁因为李陵说话而被汉武帝施以宫刑。他忍辱负重，苟且偷生，只为将未完成的史书书写下来，流传万世……
