剧情梗概：
该剧讲述解放前夕，代号“中天门”的我地下党潜伏人员赵州，为策反国民党将领，与军统保密局四大高手斗智斗勇的故事。地下党夏青、军统特工宋萍萍同时钟情于我情报员“中天门”，而绝世名伶白玉兰、军统保密局楚明凡的介入更使多角情感扑朔迷离。48年平城警备司令宋鸿儒决定择机起义。南京早有提防，派军统保密局楚明凡，堵住了他的出路。我军区派出保卫处长陆江波和干事赵咏梅（化身夏青），对宋将军进行贴身保护。楚明凡阴险狡诈，施展手段，暗中将孙的心腹拉下水，但被陆江波提前发现，巧妙将叛徒铲除。陆江波多次化险为夷，最终孙将军起义，平城解放。平津战役一触即发，南京为阻止在我军担任要职的孙宏武对其旧部策反，又一次指使胡岷桓进行暗杀。陆江波和赵咏梅再次肩负起保护任务，多次粉碎胡珉桓的刺杀阴谋。军区联欢会上，楚明凡发动最后一击，危急关头，陆江波粉碎了敌人的刺杀阴谋，楚明凡被围歼。而赵咏梅却在最后一刻，为了保护宋将军而壮烈牺牲。
