剧情梗概：
一向我行我素，没有团体观念的青棒选手林啟明（李国毅饰演），最后一场争冠赛，又因为个人英雄主义作祟，让球队输了冠军战。不但因此被同儕排斥，回到家乡还成了公敌，被丢鸡蛋。而黯然去服役，当兵时又为了救一个新兵不被欺负，莫名其妙跟著那个新兵成了逃兵。 一身狼狈的逃兵啟明跳上山线列车，遇见从台北下来衣著华丽的公主小五（柯佳嬿饰演），逃兵怕被认出，公主第一次一个人旅行，两人紧张兮兮，沿路上公主以为逃兵是坏人，逃兵以为公主识破他，想逃离彼此，却又不断地遇见。闹出不少既紧张又爆笑的误会。 最后逃兵受不了了，下车步行逃到花莲深山里，很衰的他却又目睹一男子跳海自杀，该男子正是尚未赴任的新城国小少棒队教练「洪啟胜」，啟明阴错阳差下，顶替洪啟胜的身份，成为新城国小少棒队教练，他盘算等筹足旅费便要继续逃亡，在热情的山胞教师布瓦（卢学叡饰演）安排下，住进由古怪阿公（蔡振南饰演）经营的「阿嬤照相馆」。怎料隔壁住的是今天一直遇见的小五。啟胜心想晚上逃掉，先应付一下，打开遗书，发现原来这个洪啟胜因为没了棒球舞台而心生轻念而死，他嘆了口气，棒球有那么迷人吗？值得人用命去换？他又嘆，我被唾弃都活得好好的，干嘛要死？
