Bamboo Saucer is a science fiction film in which American and Russian scientists are searching for a fallen flying saucer in the jungles of Red China. At first they were both scientists, until both countries discovered flying saucers at the same time. Distrust began to build between the two teams. Both groups wanted control and ownership of the flying saucer. Once they decide the best thing to do is work together and share their findings. Scientists discovered they had found a way to make it fly. Local villagers who helped them locate the flying saucer told the scientists that red Chinese soldiers were closing in on their location. They all agree that their only option is to avoid getting caught and losing the saucer. They must fly it out of the jungle and into space, then decide what to do with the saucer next. A flying saucer hidden in a Red Chinese peasant village is sought by teams from the United States and U.S.S.R. On finding it, they band together to explore the saucer and take a trip into space.
