Rien ni personne ne parvient à les dérider. Charitable, Emmanuelle vole à leur secours. Elle s'occupe d'abord d'Anaïs et sait trouver des arguments assez convaincants pour la jeter dans les bras de la belle Maria. Au petit matin, bourrelée de remords, Anaïs a repris son masque d'inhumanité. Emmanuelle, une nouvelle fois, triomphe de sa froideur. Anaïs et Maria s'envolent pour Paris. Reste Pénélope, atterrée par la nouvelle qui vient de lui parvenir, concernant la mort du seul homme qu'elle ait jamais aimé.
