剧情梗概：
该剧讲述了混战的中国北朝，为得到拥有一统天下秘密的青鸾镜，国与国之间，宫廷内部，乃至江湖都掀起了腥风血雨。孤女元清锁也不可避免的被牵扯进这场抢夺之中，并成为众人抢夺利用的重点。东晋末年，王朝动荡，诸侯割据。相传只有左持青鸾镜，右握离殇剑者，方可统一天下。青鸾镜与离殇剑本为龙教宝物，却因为战乱遗失。龙教圣女紫魅因练功入魔，被自己的内力反噬重伤，命悬一线。紫魅临死前，前交龙教唯一代传人端木怜，告知她青鸾镜与离殇剑的秘密。紫魅最后叮嘱端木怜，这两件宝物切不可落入奸人之手，只有真龙天子才配拥有，否则将天下大乱。端木怜为了寻找宝物，假扮北周司空夫人元氏的外甥女元清锁，以家道中落为名，带着家族信物，投奔北周司空府。在此期间端木怜分别结识了兰陵王高长恭和北周宇文邕，各自发生了一段感情纠葛，端木怜最终帮宇文邕成就了帝王霸业，而选择离开北周与兰陵王高长恭共生死。
