　　故事改编自马特·海格同名畅销书，讲述11岁的尼古拉斯和父亲住在一起，尼古拉斯最好的伙伴是一只小老鼠。有一天，父亲接到一项神秘的任务，不得不离家远行。姑妈来到家里照顾尼古拉斯。姑妈并不喜欢他，而且把尼古拉斯妈妈留下的唯一的玩具毁掉了。尼古拉斯和小老鼠离家出走，去寻找父亲。他在路上认识了一头驯鹿，彼此成为了朋友。他骑着驯鹿，开始了寻找“妖精堡”的奇幻之旅。
