剧情梗概：
TBS开局60周年纪念日剧《南极大陆：挑战神之领域的男人与狗的故事(暂定名)》。该剧讲述了1956年日本第一个南极越冬队和19条狗的故事，木村拓哉饰演副队长，将用七个月时间拍摄，而且制作方也考虑到南极拍外景。　　木村拓哉饰演的这个人物设定与1983年上映且大受欢迎的影片《南极物语》中高仓健饰演的人物很相似，《南极大陆》围绕日本战败之后为找回自信而制定的国家计划为主题，讲述木村拓哉饰演的仓持岳志副队长1956年出发到南极观测，和一起工作的狗分别又再会的感人故事，这也是木村拓哉继总理大臣、间谍和脑科学者之后的又一次新尝试。　　该剧作为TBS开局60周年的纪念作品，电视台投入了不少资金制作，制作人石丸彰彦说：虽然具体金额我不便透露，但这次是至今为止最大规模的。出演该剧的还有堺雅人、山本裕典、寺岛今、绪形直人、柴田恭兵以及香川照之等很多著名演员，木村拓哉也期待早日和他们在拍摄现场见面。
