剧情梗概：银河铁道999外传：宇宙交响诗梅德尔是一部剧情,动画片，在被称为宇宙中心的行星拉美达尔，一场暴乱正为这颗步入灭亡的行星雪上加霜。在人工太阳等各种尝试失败后，美丽冷傲的女王不惜将自己机械化，以取得长久的生存。在往昔岁月里，她已将无数子民机械化。然而有的人类不愿意丧失作为人类的尊严，他们组成武装力量，悍然发动叛乱。叛军最先绑架女王继承人美特尔（雪野五月 配音），任凭纳斯卡（斎賀みつき 配音）如何呼唤，军人依旧准备行刑。关键时刻，女王挺身而出，虽然她反复声明机械化的必要和理由，但是本愤怒冲昏头脑的人类无法遏制自己的暴行。机器与人类的战争一触即发，趁乱逃出的美特尔则试图找到这颗行星的秘密……                                                                    　　本片根据松本零士的原作改编。
