The Sinking of Japan is a drama, science fiction, and adventure film. Geophysicist Dr. Yusuke Tadokoro (played by Keishu Kobayashi) leads his team to a deep-sea scientific expedition, only to discover abnormal cracks and mudflows on the seabed. After a series of investigations He then concluded that the Japanese archipelago would be sunk in a year. However, Japanese government officials believe that Dr. Tadokoro's prediction is just a lie that cannot be believed.
