Tunnel War is a war film. In 1942, the Japanese invasion of China burned into the Jizhong Plain. Surrendering to surrender is the only way to die, and rising to resist is the final way out. The people in Jizhong have mobilized to resist the Japanese army, and Gaojiazhuang has mobilized a large number of militiamen. In order to counter the Japanese aircraft and artillery, the local people used the landscape to dig out intricate tunnels. Militia captain Gao Chuanbao (played by Zhu Longguang) used these ingenious tunnels to lead the militiamen in roundabout operations against the Japanese army.
