Román and his friend Ali seek out his girlfriend Jackie in a dangerous zone in a suburb in Buenos Aires. Ali shows an old house and tells that Jackie had met a blonde guy that she found in Internet, and now she had been invited to have dinner with him. Román waits in the car while Ali enters the house. When Román suspects that something is wrong, he breaks in the house and finds two old men torturing a young woman in a room in the basement and Ali tied with nitroglycerin in her front head. Román neutralizes the nitro and releases his friend. Then he decides to seek out Jackie in the place while Ali tries to leave the house and call the police.
A man eager to make amends with his ex-girlfriend stumbles upon a bizarre torture cult in this thriller from Argentinean director Adrian Garcia Bogliano]. After going through a bad breakup, a twenty-something man feels bad about how things ended, and wants to talk with his ex. However, finding her turns out to be difficult and she doesn't answer his messages, so he asks one of his best female friends to lend a hand. Using the IP address from her computer, the friends discover the woman wascorresponding with a handsome man and appears to have arranged to meet him at a large house on the outskirts of town. However, a visit to the house makes it clear things were not as they seem from the outside; the home belongs to a pair of aging political radicals who have a large cache of old, decaying dynamite and are putting it to use on a number of unsuspecting young women. {#Sudor Frio (aka Cold Sweat) received its American premiere at the 2011 South by Southwest Film Festival.
When Roman's girlfriend disappears, he expects to find her in the arms of another man. And find her he does but there is no lover on the scene, only a pair of crazy old men keeping her locked away in the basement of their crumbling mansion. Armed with wild-eyed political ideals and case after case of decades-old and highly unstable dynamite, the villainous duo are conducting illicit experiments on a string of young women lured to their home via the internet. If Roman cannot free his young love, she is likely to end up in pieces, thanks in part to a generous slathering of nitroglycerine. A delirious, old-school horror picture with the most memorable villains in years at its core, Adrian Garcia Bogliano's Cold Sweat was a huge hit at SXSW thanks to its creator's wild imagination and sense of showmanship.
