　　剧情发生在一艘豪华大邮轮上，破坏专家弗雷迪·琼斯在船上入置数个炸弹勒索巨款，船长奥玛·沙里夫向岸上的总监（安东尼·霍普金斯饰演）求救。因为他的太太也在船上，所以总监对此事十分紧张，用直升机将拆弹专家理查德·哈里斯和戴维·海明斯等载送到船上，展开了一场紧张刺激的拆弹大行动 。
　　作为惊悚片，本片是典型的密室电影，只不过场景是放在浩瀚的大海中一艘孤独的邮轮上，几名拆弹专家为了解救1200旅客而在封闭环境拆除炸弹的故事，这也可以说是“双规”电影---在规定的时间，在规定的地点解救人质。本片由于是在邮轮上实景拍摄，虽然船身晃动使得镜头轻微摇摆，反而增加了真实感。“最后一分钟解决”的套路也是必不可少的
