剧情梗概：
唐代中期，节度使权得势盛。互相讨伐，民不聊生，其中以宣武的段广，魏博的田伏及天平的长孙弘的势力最大。樊秋娘本是田伏属下将樊策之女。十岁时，被武功盖世的当妙清师太掳走，把她训练成一冷漠无情、专杀贪官污吏及天下负心者的人。秋娘后因母病危，违背师令，重回家中生活，更私自向磨镜少年展修元提亲结成夫妇，便樊秋娘却向父隐瞒杀贪官之事，并常以面谱人身份锄强扶弱，一时间合资名远播，段广为吞并其他节度使领土，特在魏博设立，一名为兰陵客的秘密组织，暗中从事政治暗杀活动。由于面谱人之行动与兰陵阁有所触，秋娘因而连累父母被杀，后更与妙清反目成仇，最后被迫亲自手刃其师。秋娘夫妇自此被卷入节度使斗争漩涡中，更被田伏利用，将段广杀死。而田伏在灭段广后变得野心勃勃，后更得道术秘本，使其武功及势力雄霸一方。但此时，秋娘夫妇已认请田伏的本来面目，反投向忠节爱民的长孙弘门下，与田伏及其手下的武术奇人精精儿及空空儿，展开一场惊天地，泣鬼神的激战，最后得以诛奸琊，平息此段唐代传奇大风暴，而樊秋娘厌倦此种杀戮的生涯，与夫婿隐居于山林之中。
