剧情梗概：
十年前，沉傲鸣与唐伟聪同期加入廉署，一起受训，情同手足，出生入死。是当时总调查主任冰姐的得力助手。沉傲鸣聪明机智，办事效率极高；唐伟聪守纪尽责、心思谨密，二人是最佳拍档。一日，二人跟踪一名疑犯时，意外遇上正被警方通辑的毒犯。唐伟聪上报冰姐，冰姐叮嘱等待支援才可行动，但沉傲鸣刚愎自用，认为凭二人之力可破案立功。故不听兄弟劝告，在支援到达前私自冲入现场行动，可是寡不敌众，打斗期间被打伤左腿。事后，沉傲鸣恼怒兄弟袖手旁观，赫然辞职，从此杳无音讯，唐伟聪自此带着强烈的内疚感过日子。十年来唐伟聪凭着坚毅不屈、踏实刻苦的工作态度，多年来破获不少贪污案件，后来晋升为总调查主任。手下小组有一名在IT组调来的同事李进儿。她为人机智灵敏，处变不惊，查案时往往以小聪明，用自己的方法取得线索，有着当年沉傲鸣的影子，令唐伟聪不其然担心昔日悲剧会重演。在冰姐丈夫的丧礼上，一直消声匿迹的沉傲鸣却突然现身，相隔十年再次见到沉傲鸣，唐伟聪心底百感交杂。唐伟聪在调查一宗银行「人头户口」案件时，怀疑当中涉及洗黑钱罪行，并发现回港的沉傲鸣竟然牵涉其中。原来现在的沉傲鸣是大马商人莫以开的军师，凭借其过往在廉署的调查经验，为莫以开出谋献策，多次避过各国刑事及反贪机构的侦查。唐伟聪不敢相信所得的线索，又自责是十年前的事，令沉傲鸣性格崩坏，忘记当初加入廉署捍卫公平公义的初心。随着更多的线索逐渐浮现，李进儿跟踪一名怀疑涉案核心人物Paul少时，却突然杀出一班本地黑帮人马，廉署的调查工作亦再添变数
