《双核时代》是一部由曾执导过《落地，请开手机》的著名导演李骏执导的电视剧。该剧汇集了朱雨辰、马苏、潘泰名等一大批优秀的青年演员。2011年3月8日，《双核时代》于厦门开机，2011年6月10日完美杀青。　　可可和李楠是一对同母异父的兄妹。李楠已经迈入而立之年，可可又不着调的跟一群艺术青年玩乐队，两人的婚姻大事成了母亲杨惠玲最操心的事。杨惠玲施展铁腕步步紧逼，不料两个孩子的最终选择都违背了她的意愿。　　可可放弃了杨惠玲介绍的富二代，嫁给了来大城市寻梦的穷小子徐航。李楠则娶了养母刘翠兰钦定的儿媳妇叶莹。　　由此两个双核家庭硝烟四起。可可和徐航白手起家，共同奋斗的日子充满酸甜苦辣。两人性格好强，又不会沟通，导致矛盾不断。富二代的插足，徐航初恋的出现更让他们的婚姻雪上加霜。徐航通过努力在事业上小有成就，杨惠玲终于承认了这个女婿。小两口希望租房结婚，却被买房，随着徐航爸妈的入住，可可和徐航又面临着新的矛盾　　叶莹和李楠想当丁克，杨惠玲在记录安全期的日历上做了手脚，导致叶莹怀孕，由此一系列的矛盾接踵而至。叶莹一方面要和两个婆婆斗智斗勇，另一方面对长不大的老公越来越失望随着孩子的出生，李楠和叶莹将要担负起更沉重的生活压力
