一九四一年华北赤城知报村，日军少佐高腾将一群中国劳工赶进村内，作为特种兵训练的活靶子展开追杀。八路军某部参谋高国成和马贩子姚和尚挺身而出，与日军特种兵进行了殊死的搏斗，但终因寡不敌众，与陆军医和小六、黑子、三顺等人一起被封闭在炸塌了的古墓之中，后被装扮成道士的盗墓贼棍儿误打误撞的救了出来。　　八路军卢政委发现这几个人各有特长，于是将他们改编为八路军漂亮小分队，结果这些乌合之众在面对装备精良的日军时，竟然将日军折腾得焦头烂额。　　面对不按常理出牌的小分队，出身于正规军校的高腾使尽了浑身的解数，但依然以惨败告终。尤其是黑子发明的辣椒雷，更是日伪军们闻风丧胆的梦魇。　　小分队因为屡建奇功，自然滋长了一些骄傲自满的情绪，结果被高腾的老师佐佐木反败为胜，不但造成了乔家庄惨案，也让佐佐木的学生婉真混进了小分队。　　最终小分队识破了婉真的身份，但却付出了陆军医牺牲的代价。为了给陆军医和乔家庄的乡亲们报仇，小分队拼命的追杀婉真，结果又在知报村陷入了绝境，再次被封闭在炸塌了的古墓之中，并无意中发现了日军的细菌库，于是众人一致决定，豁出性命与细菌库同归于尽。　　一声巨响，火光划破黎明，夜空亮如白昼。卢政委和八路军战士们脱帽伫立。　　本剧为以幽默诙谐的变现方式刻画出一个个生动鲜活的抗日草根英雄形象，笑中带泪中体现浓浓兄弟情深。
