剧情梗概：大武当是一部剧情片，大学历史系研究生沐天亮与林如亦为了写毕业论文一起上武当山考察，不想却陷入以庞天龙为首的盗墓集团设下的陷阱中，意在用其家传宝玉打开武当山上明朝建文帝宝藏之大门。                                                                    　　原来在永乐初年，沐天亮的先人云南侯沐昕与逃亡公主朱雪儿密谋为废帝朱允炆复辟，沐昕与无党派掌门李素希商策，决定进京刺杀朱棣，朱雪儿也混进宫中，湘王朱柏高密，朱棣亲率大军围困武当山。三十万大军搜山无果，朱棣恼怒之下欲放火烧山。朱允炆见大势已去，遂立誓在武当终身修道，从此不屡凡世。朱棣下旨还他一个云中的故宫，就此开启北建故宫南修武当的浩大工程。                                                                    　　随着探宝的深入，沐天亮终于觉察庞天龙的险恶用心，为保护先人坐化之地不受侵扰，他与如亦联手对抗庞天龙一伙，俩人于几经生死中产生了真爱，终感悟到几百年来道家“担当”之大义。
